Olden Days!

Can you say Mullet?

I called these "My Lambie Pajamies"

Barb, Rob & I

My dad took in stacks and stack of old negatives from our childhood days into Costco and they put them all on CD’s. I can’t wait to have all my childhood pictures at my fingertips to digital scrapbook, make prints & do pretty much whatever I want. Look how funny these pictures are!

Our Baby Girl!

I went in for my Targeted Ultrasound yesterday. It was a 4-D Ultrasound that they do once during a pregnancy and a tech does it rather than my normal Doctor. When we walked in I told her that my little stinker (the baby, not Jord) wouldn’t let us verify the gender for the last two ultrasounds. But at 14 weeks we were told it was for sure a boy. The Tech was a very sarcastic lady and she kept telling me that if I didn’t know now the baby probably didn’t want me to know. I told her that was nice, but I REALLY wanted to know. She was measuring for 5-10 min before I was like, “Are you going to tell me?” Then finally she went between the legs and said what do you see?... ummm…I don’t know nothing?! She said Yep, that’s right you are having a GIRL! I couldn’t believe it. I had to ask her a few times, “Are you serious?” She said she is 100% positive it is a girl.

I can’t believe it! I am very excited for a girl; I have just been planning for the past 2 months that we were going to have a little Jord running around. Crazy!! I think only things like this happen to me, it has to be as dramatic as possible! So back to square one on names, clothes, the nursery! Good thing I don’t have to start over on the countdown!

P.S. Happy Birthday to Barb! Happy Golden Birthday!

Stinkin' Baby!

Well, I really wouldn’t say that it is funny. But everyone I tell seems to think so. So as you have probably already read, we found out that we were having a boy pretty early, 14 weeks. At this Dr. Appointment she was so so so sure. So we went shopping, always with the thought in my mind… Maybe we should wait till she confirms it a second time. But that didn’t stop me, we have a crib, changing table, a rocker, baby clothes with tags (thanks to the 70% off sales at Smiths Marketplace, Costco & TJ Maxx) Oh, yeah and we have a name too.

Well two weeks ago (18 weeks), I went into the doctor to have my normal monthly ultrasound. Well Baby Nicholls, was head down and soooo sleepy and would not change his position. She tried and tried but could never see if he was a boy or a girl. She kept asking me, so was I really sure last time. I was like “YES, you were positive!” Ends up because of the babies position she couldn’t see whether it was a boy or girl. I was frustrated. She told us to come back in 2 weeks and to drink something with sugar in it before we came in and we would try again. She felt bad for me…

2 weeks later… Today we went back to the doctor, sugary drink in my system. And my little stinker had his legs crossed, up to “his” chest with the cord though the legs! Seriously, things like this only happen to me. She tried and tried and could never see the baby’s gender. I know I should just be thankful that the baby is healthy and growing right on schedule. But I can’t help but be frustrated because I am half way through this pregnancy and I should know what I am having.

I would be happy with either, boy or girl! If it’s a girl, I just hope she likes her cute sports bedding in the nursery!

Gatorade

So I have to tell you, this pregnancy hasn’t been the most eventful. (Other than recently when I have started to feel the baby move) But from 8 weeks until…umm last week 18 weeks I have been a barfing my guts out. Jordan will take me to dinner and either in the car or in the bathroom before we leave it ends up in my lap or in the toilet. He teases me that I need to pay him back for all the food I have thrown up. I try to explain to Jordan how it feels to be so hungry, but absolutely everything sounds disgusting. But if I don’t eat it get even sicker. It’s a vicious cycle. I have always loved to try new recipes, but just looking at pictures of food make me ill, still. How sad is that!

But one thing that I can not get enough of right now is Gatorade! Seriously! I have always been a drinker; I love an ice cold beverage with everything. Diet Coke yes, But never Gatorade. After making Jord go to the gas station a million times for a Gatorade, we were at Costco and he comes walking to the cart with a big bulk pack of Gatorade. Yeah, that was about a week and a half ago… and we need to go get more! Jordan keeps telling me it must be a boy, and that his son needs as many Electrolytes as he can get! (He thinks we are breeding an athlete, his athletic ability and my family’s height)

Oh, we have decided on a name. (if when we go to our next ultrasound it is still a boy, that is!) Cannon Robert Nicholls after both of our dads.

It's a Boy, Already!

That’s right! It’s going to be a little Jordan Nicholls. We couldn’t be happier. It’s kind of a funny story. At my last appointment (10 weeks), a month ago my Dr. had told me that we would find out the gender of the baby at 16-18 weeks, but it might be possible at this next appointment (14 weeks). Jordan & I went to my Dr. Appointment yesterday, she started my ultrasound showing me the brain, heart, spine everything that was developing correctly, measuring everything. Then all of a sudden she says, Oh…that is a penis. (sorry, I feel weird typing that). Well, I gasped (really loud) and she says, “Oh, my goodness did you not want to know the babies gender?” I laughed and told her that I did want to know, but I was just shocked that she saw anything. Jordan then interjects “Kell, that doesn’t mean we can buy anything yet.” The Dr. says that she thinks I can, but to keep the receipts just incase. After a few minutes she says, “Yeah, I wouldn’t even keep the receipts, this baby is a definitely a boy!”

They are going to triple check in 4 weeks, but we are so excited! It is so fun to be able to see that HE is growing inside of me and I am not just terminally ill. I have been feeling better, but it is still a struggle. July can’t come soon enough!
